{"id":78,"date":"2019-01-23T10:34:32","date_gmt":"2019-01-23T17:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ngfamily.dynu.com\/ngwiki\/?p=78"},"modified":"2022-09-01T18:27:54","modified_gmt":"2022-09-02T00:27:54","slug":"frosted-sugar-cookies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ngfamily.freeddns.org\/ngwp\/?p=78","title":{"rendered":"Frosted Sugar Cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two recipes: Cookies and the Icing for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sara&#8217;s Sugar Cookies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2\/3 cup 10-2\/3 sticks Butter<\/li><li>3\/4 cup Sugar<\/li><li>1\/2 teaspoon Vanilla<\/li><li>1 Egg<\/li><li>4 teaspoons Milk<\/li><li>2 cups Flour<\/li><li>1\/2 teaspoon Baking Powder<\/li><li>1\/4 teaspoon Salt<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Preheat oven to 375<\/li><li>Cream together Butter and Sugar<\/li><li>Add Vanilla and Egg<\/li><li>Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy<\/li><li>Stir in Milk and dry ingredients<\/li><li>Divide dough into two parts, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour (can be left up to 24 hours)<\/li><li>Roll to approximately 1\/3-1\/4&#8243; thick, cut with desired cutters and place on a greased cookie sheet<\/li><li>Bake for 6-8 minutes at 375<br><strong>Note:<\/strong> Bake for only 6 minutes to eliminate excessive browning on the bottom of the cookies.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Butter Icing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1-1\/2 cups Confectioners&#8217; Sugar<\/li><li>3 tablespoons Butter, softened<\/li><li>1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract<\/li><li>1 tablespoon Milk<\/li><li>3 drops Red Food Coloring<\/li><li>2.25 ounce 1 jar Red Decorator Sugar<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Combine confectioners&#8217; sugar, butter, vanilla and milk, beating until creamy.  Thin with a few more drops of milk (if necessary) to reach desired spreading consistency.<\/li><li>Stir in optional food coloring.<\/li><li>Spread frosting over cooled cookies and decorate with colored sugar, if desired.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buttercream Frosting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2 pounds of Confectioner&#8217;s Sugar (that seems like a lot)<\/li><li>1 stick of Butter<\/li><li>1\/4 cup Crisco<\/li><li>1\/8 cup Meringue Powder<\/li><li>1 teaspoon Almond Extract<\/li><li>1\/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract<\/li><li>splash of Milk (as needed)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Combine<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Royal Icing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>5 cups Powdered Sugar<\/li><li>6 tablespoons Water<\/li><li>2 tablespoons Meringue Powder<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Combine on Low until matte finish.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two recipes: Cookies and the Icing for them.
