Dad bought some aged oak laminate flooring. decided to go with a, (dad would say) blue Santa Fe design.

Before

The Flooring

Once the decision was made to not keep the floor due to the linoleum smell, the first task was to remove anything that is mounted to the floor. That includes 4 cabinets and all the appliances. There were several screws that tacked down the linoleum in different places but a quick pull and some sanding to get the paper backing off the plywood, The subfloor is ready for laminate flooring.

New flooring installed.

Painting the Cabinets

With the cabinets out, The Family painted them to match the new color scheme. Originally, the idea was to use Saint Tessy’s surplus wall paint to put in a warm white but Dad found a gallon of paint bought for the kids’ kitchen that matched pretty good. Still free and added some color!

Since all the cabinets were made with osd panel, primer was applied first to get the surface ready for paint. Sanded the primer with 120 grit sandpaper to rough it up and flatten. Lastly, we used a napped 3″ roller to apply the paint. The roller gave it texture and effective coverage.

Slipcovers and Curtains

The old cushions got to go! or much easier, covered. Mom was able to find a pattern that brings a little bit of home with us and has every color we are bringing. The slip cover was made much like wrapping a present. Dad cut fabric exactly to wrap around 4 of the sides and by stitching the ends, he adds a zipper.

The Curtains were just home curtains sewn onto the existing curtains. Both the track clips and the dimensions of the curtains were retained.

Pop Up Hub rebuild

Inside
TCM 13194TM (Grease Seal)

1.372 Inch I.D.

1.983 Inch O.D.

L44649 (Bearing)
L44610 (Tapered Roller Bearing Cone)
L44610 (Tapered Roller Bearing Cone)
L44649 (Bearing)
Outside

5.30-12 Tires

Furnace Cover

If you have a RV, you may know this struggle which is wasps like to find exhausts and other openings to build a nest. Most people just put in a screen and I looked but they always seems too bulky, like a frying basket was just attached to your RV. Well, that’s when Dad inspected it a little further and noticed there was a metal blade he could interface with and decided to build a red plug they use like on jet planes.
