Find a picture, one with the least amount of perspective, and insert it into your project as a canvas. I typically put it in the x-z plane so that when you view “TOP” you’re looking down on the canvas. Note: if the cookie has a specific direction, we are building it from the handle side first so mirroring the picture would produce the correct shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mom typically wants 3.5-4″ sugar cookies, so right click on the canvas in the Browser Tree and select Calibrate. Using two points, select an ideal distance and it will scale appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now is the tedious part, with the canvas visible, create a sketch. Then use points to outline the shape you desire. Dad typically use fit point splines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hint: if there’s symmetry, create only half of the sketch. press {L} to create a line and draw a mirror line. Use the create mirror tool to select the partial sketch and select the mirror line to generate the other half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
